Frequently Asked Questions

Be nice.

Treat others with the same respect you'd want them to treat you. We're all here for a good time. Be tolerant of others who may not know everything you know. Bring your sense of humor.

Be honest.

Above all, be honest. If you see something you like, award it a heart. If you see spam, flag it. Provide informative, cool recipe or review of your own!

How do I heart?

If you like a review, recipe or restaurant, you can heart it to show your appreciation.

To heart, You simply click on the heart shape and the heart color becomes red once hearted. Clicking on the heart again cancels the heart you have given.

Reviews, Recipes and Restaurants are normally sorted by heart count so the most highly hearted reviews/recipes/restaurants float to the top.

What is reputation?

Heart is reputation. The more hearts recived, the more reputations you got.

Reputation is completely optional. Normal use of Yummytime - that is, submitting review, recipe and restaurant does not require any reputation whatsoever.

Reputation is a (very) rough measurement of how much the Yummytime community trusts you. Reputation is never given, it is earned by convincing other Yummytime users that you know what you're talking about.

Here's how it works: if you post a good review or recipe, it will be hearted by your peers: you gain 1 reputation point. You can earn up to 50 reputation points per day, but no more.

Amass enough reputation points and Yummytime will allow you to go beyond simply submitting reviews and recipes:

100vote to have certain recipe, review, restaurant front-paged.

What is the free ads for non-profit on your site?

Although the site is supported by ads, there is still ads space(or rather ads inventory) wasted and I would rather put it into good use. Yummytime.com (previously goodspot.ca) has always been for the local - Toronto GTA area before and now Vancouver and Montreal area. And There are many non-profit groups doing great things in the local communities and We would like to extend our support by supporting them.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Make sure the non-profit group is targeting Yummytime audiences, i.e people from Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver area.
  2. Construct a 220×220 image advertisement for the non-profit group.
  3. Send us an email with the description of the non-profit group and url. We will review and reply you.
  4. Your advertisement will now be featured in Yummytime’s remnant ad inventory, in the sidebar ad slot on most pages.

So, What are you waiting for? Are you a non-profit group trying to get your event and campaign off the ground? Get in touch with us and apply via email.
