Best - steak frites, spinach salad in pomegranate vinegarette.


I'm irrationally fond of this restaurant, so my opinions of their food are bound to be somewhat irrational, as well. A jumbly, comforting, hippie-esque joint on Harbord Street, KK isn't technically in Kensington Market, but it has the Kensington spirit in droves. Middle Eastern influenced cuisine combined with such comfort food offerings as steak frites keep regulars coming back for years. Best bet in the summer is the tree house style roof top patio.

definitely a good place to eat. i simply love this place. it's definitely planted its roots in toronto now that it's been 5 years since my first visit.

only one word of advice, though. their set menus for large groups are pricey and not worth it, really. plus the service is slower. we found ourselves getting tipsy on just one bottle of beer because we were waiting so long for the food. it would have been smarter for them to at least give us some appetizers to start off with.

Everyone should give this place a try! This place explores many of the culinary delights of the Middle East and includes various vegetarian and vegan choices. Dishes include couscous, pastas, pita crusted pizzas, braised lamb and a variety of desserts including baklava.

The decor and setting of the place is absolutely gorgeous with Oriental carpets covering the walls, a painted wood floor, and decorative objects scattered about. During the summertime, head to the rooftop patio and enjoy your meal in the shade of a Manitoba Maple.

A place not to be missed! :)
