We just came back from a long weekend in NOTL. We usually go up from Philadelphia once or twice a year. You can't beat the combination of plays, wineries, and food.

If you're only having one great dinner I think you should go for the best combination possible. For me, that means Peller's. It has excellent food, superb view of vineyards, beautiful presentation, and very good waitstaff. You can ask to sit on the patio (I think they hold a table in the dining room for you in case the weather is nasty).

We were there for lunch and it was the best restaurant lunch I have ever had. The risotto was out of this world and I have gone back already.

This was a wonderful kick off to 2005. We started with a tour of the winery, and ended with a fantastic 7 course tasting menu, with wine accompaniament. The restaurant at Peller Estates is truly first class, helmed by Chef Jason Parsons. There's an emphasis on seasonal regional ingredients, and the wine pairings were inspired. I'm hoping that my upcoming reservations at Susur for their tasting menu can match this.
