A co-worked has just treated us to danishes and assorted pastries. Danishes are very good, pastries are outstanding (just like the ones I've kept coming back to in old Quebec city). I am planning to go there myself one of these days and check out other pastries and lunch items. It is always nice to combine a visit to the Beaches with a pleasant dining experience.

A unassuming owner,but god does he know what he is doing.. Everything is fresh everyday,the selection is outstanding and you get there what you can't get anywhere else. Congratulations on probably the best kept secret in Toronto. Wish the news media would write about you in their most eloquent terms!!

Zane's is indeed a hidden gem: Their croissants and danishes (whole line of viennoiserie) are the best I have had in Toronto. The pastry cream (creme patissiere) used in some of them is fabulously flavourful; you can see the minute specks of vanilla bean. The quiches are equally divine.

this place bakes lovely croissants and baguettes. They don't have very many chairs, but on a sunny day it's nice to sit in or out with a coffee and a fruit danish or an almond croissant. Yum!

Zane's has amazing pastries, I love the lemon curd croissants- buttery, flaky, and stuffed with lemon curd. Yum.

oh,two doors down from them there is Konditor with very nice austrian-style cakes. Skip the pastries they are just ok, but the cakes - sold by the slice - are very good.
