I like The Senator first thing in the morning, before the line-ups - grab one of the many papers on the front bar, sit at a booth and chill. Order a Senator breakfast (with thick-sliced challah and baked beans, though their bacon is only so-so), the blueberry pancakes, the yoghurt surprise with fruit and granola or the bagel, lox and cream cheese. Coffee is decent too.

The Senator on Victoria south of Dundas is always top quality everything - from coffee to pancakes to jam. We especially enjoy the french toast. Also, and only if you get there early enuff, the breakfast buffet at senses/SOho is fresh and very very good - but you need to get there early. Excellent pastries too.
