What should have been a nice evening out, ended up being ruined by the attitude of staff. Four meals including appetizers and desert were ordered. The main course included two whole fish, 1 fish fillet and 1 pasta dish.The two whole fish dinners came looking lovely, but the fish was over-cooked and therefore dry. When staff asked how dinner was, they were told the fish was over-cooked. One person decided to eat their whole fish. The other did not. This person's dinner was taken away after having eaten three mouthfuls. Management then argued with us that the fish couldn't be over cooked because the cooking is timed and indicated he would not listen to what we had to say.

We were not asked if this person would like something else, no alternative was offered and no other food was brought.

When it came time to pay, management approached us to ask what he should do about payment for the fish. We were informed that the chef reiterated that there was no way the fish could be overcooked. When we indicated that we should not be charged because the fish was taken away and not eaten, the owner left in a huff, and returned with the bill which he threw on the table.

The attitude of management was RUDE, INSULTING and DEMEANING.

I would NEVER RECOMMEND this restaurant.

Personally, I find that great food, ambiance and service are the perfect launch to a romantic evening. For that, I highly recommend Zucca. You likely won't find a dark, candle-lit niche for canoodling, but you won't risk an evening that is ruined by bad food or bad service either. If you tell them what you are looking for when you call for a res, they may be able to give you a table that offers more privacy.

Great food and great service! A warm and inviting place to dine. Combines a good wine list with an inventive chef and wait staff that are welcoming and engaging. Their homemade pasta is always good. Food is always fresh and cooked to perfection.
One of my favourite restaurants for several years running.
