1) I am Hungarian so my review is based on comparison of this rest and others and my mom's
2) Bad first. EXPENSIVE. in the league with rhapsody (sp) in thornhill (yonge) Far more then some local rest. I had bottle of club soda, schnitzel, cucumber salad, chestnut for desert. 46 with tip (for one). I have had this at the paprika fro about 10 less.
3)The chestnut puree was more whipping cream the chestnut. A LOT more. I didn't pay 7 dollars for whipping cream. but is what i got.
4)Schnitzel was very bog. But not tenderized as it should be. it tasted good, and was very fresh. BUT was a little thicker then it should be. (good place would pound the living daylights out of the meat to tenderize it) this place only introduced to to the paddle
5)cucumber salad was made with cream and pipreka. I am used to it be just with vinegar and paprika. It was nice but served as an appetizer rather then with the main course as most Hungarians would do
6)Service was good
7) the main course has a LITTLE red cabagge and about 3 small pieces of herbed potatoes.
8) There was no 'wooden plate' on the menu. (something that every other Hungarian rest i have been to had
over all it wasn't bad. But given that there are a lot Hungarian rest that serve the same food, but for a LOT less/less fillers i won't be going back there anytime soon.
