VERY downscale. on Eglinton a few blocks west of Dufferin. But it's plastic tablecloths (disposable) and still seems seedy after its brightening up (doesn't really qualify as a renovation).
The soups (especially shrimp) are outstanding. Green mango salad is sticky and comforting. Pad Thai is better than most, although on my last visit it did seem to have some ketchup among the ingredients (but not as much as many, if not most, versions in Toronto).
Expect it to be packed with locals - especially students.
