Best secret in Downtown East.
We have become regulars since their inception and they keep getting better. Have had several meals (lunch/diners) and can honestly state we have yet to offered mediocre fare. Always exceptional, and a warm place to be on a Friday night. Love them.

I love this place. I have been at least twice a month since the fall, and I'm never disappointed. The chicken paillard is delicious, and so are the escargot, and the tartare. I also love the braised short rib poutine, but it wasn't available the last time I was there - it's coming off the menu for spring. I can't wait to see what the chef cooks up next! Oh, and the burgers are the best in the city, I think.

They're the kind of people that if you say something to them they will accommodate. Maybe they couldn't have fixed it that night, but you can be certain they'd address by your return. They're very much into being crowd pleasing.

It seems their ambition is to be a neighbourhood resto. They don't want to go head on with the Distillery District. There is a wide gap in quality in Corktown between Kultura and Mr Tasty. I welcome having a casual comfort place.

Had a wonderful meal last night.

We got in around 7PM and found one other set of diners but by the time we left around 9:30, the place was packed. Loved the vibe and decor - simple, elegant, casual.

My companion and I both had a leafy green salad to start with a light vinaigrette. Mains were a terrific rigatoni with a spicy tomato sauce & sautéed rapini for me (Delicious!) and a hamburger & frites for my friend - which she also enjoyed.

Was a tad disappointed with the bread - they serve it with fresh butter but the bread seemed very stale?

Dessert was a chocolate cake with a bourbon/caramel sauce for me and a lemon curd cake for her - we equally enjoyed both!

Service was attentive but relaxed - we were not rushed - even when the place started to fill up. I'm glad to have a new resto in my neighbourhood and will definitely go back.

I love their tartare. I frequently have it for lunch since they're around the corner from my work/office. Their burger and fries kick ass too. Actually, I've been very pleased with everything they have. It's never really been that busy, but that may change since they were favourably reviewed in NOW this week.

Weezies is open for dinner on Wednesday or Thursday to Sunday. I was there last Friday evening. The restaurant was reasonably busy, service was good and decor/atmosphere is very good. Food was simple, but good, and reasonably priced. The menu is limited, and seems more directed at a lunch crowd. Overall, a welcome addition to the neighbourhood!
