I have never written a restaurant review but was so disappointed with a recent birthday party I feel compelled to do so. The biggest problem
is rude service followed by bland food. There are specific seating times so before you even get your dessert you are told you have toleave in ten minutes in order for the second seating to happen (then maybe they should serve the food more promptly!!). Then to add insult to injury they don't even try to separate bills which is
needed badly as their course price only covers a few items so there are lots of addons. So we were wolfing down desserts and stressed out trying to add up liquor tax and all the addons everyone had. We literally had to use a pen and paper and figure it out and it took fifteen minutes. I'm surprised a restaurant that takes large parties and is so draconian with seating times wouldn't
buy the technology to split bills (this has existed for over 10 years).

Also soup was cold and one of the dessert was two slices of orange with spices on them. This wouldn't have been a problem if we had felt the evening was worth it but after essentially getting kicked out and the paying fiasco, it was just insult to injury that the food sucked.

We celebrated a joint birthday at The Sultan's Tent. The atmosphere and food are excellent and we were very impressed. We sat in a private tent and truly felt comfortable and received exceptional service. The decor is fabulous and not pretentious. The service was very fast and the waiters were attentive and friendly. We also enjoyed dancing with the belly dancer, who even got my husband to get up and move his hips (a very unusual thing for him to do). We loved the interactivity that came with the entertainment part of the evening. I would say that the value of the food is definitely worth the price and we will be back.

Hello, we went to the sultan's Tent last night, and all I can say is, WHAT A FRAUD!!! The service was bad, the guy came to take our plates as we were still eating!! We had to ask for a glass of water--- forget the refills!! We noticed that people who bought alcohol were served faster and with more attention than us, non drinkers. The hummus was good, alas, the pita bread that came with it was old and hard. The harira soup was so thick and just too fragrant, the smell was uncomfortable. The 'couscous royale' was our major disappointment. The broth was thick and sooo sweet, just yukky disgusting. The couscous grain was orange and hard (undercooked). The lamb was good but undercooked. The chiken was OK. The merguez sausages were bland, greasy, just awful-- even breakfast sausages taste better. The dessert was cheap-- two slices of orange sprinkled with cinnamon, and 2 average baklavas. What really upset us is that they call themselves 'authentic moroccan,' and they misrepresent moroccan cuisine--- we should know, we have been to Morocco several times! If any restaurant like Sultan's Tent would open in Morocco, and call themselves moroccan, people would throw rocks at it!! And poor Candian public, who believes this is Moroccan cuisine!! Arggh!! In short: If you want to eat real moroccan cuisine, google 'moroccan restaurant Toronto' and you will find delicious, cheaper alternatives to that bunch of frauds at Sultan's Tent. There. Now I feel better for sharing our outrage.

Just Horrible. Should of just got the Tea. I will never go there again, the service was bad, the manager was very rude. What a waste of money. DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS ME.... SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DONT GO. Dinner took 2.5 hours to come, the manager said their is nothing he can do, that they are busy. I had made reservations they should of known how many people they can sit.

We celebrated New Years at The Sultans Tent.
The experience was excellent.
The service was exceptional.
The food was presented well and tasted even better.
The entertainment was very enjoyable and interactive.
This was one of the nicest New Years we have had outside of a party at home.
Anywhere else this night would have cost us twice as much.

Congragulations to all at The Sultans Tent

Thanks again.

Funny you should mention the tea, I went there last year and that's all I really enjoyed.

Price-wise, I believe we spent close to $60-70 per person, including tax and 1 drink. The food was good, but I don't think it was worth it.

the only thing good about Sultan's tent is the tea. Go to the bar and get a pot of tea. That's about as much as you'd want to invest there.

Really HORRIBLE food when we ate there!!! Too salty and overcooked ultra-dry meat. THEY, rather than us, should be paying for that fiasco. Remembered a review in one of Toronto's newspaper a while back with similar eating experience.

Had dinner at Sultans tent for the first time on Tuseday night.

The space and furnishings were very nice and comfortable. 8/10

The service was very informative, knowledgeable and overall pleasant. 9/10

The wine list was slightly above average. More old world with an eye towards France 6.5/10

The food was quite good after all. The majority of the group quite enjoyed the entire meal and agreed that the apps were quite special themselves. For apps we had the maftouli, crab cakes, couscous, shrimp. And lamb, steak, lamb wallet, and ribs for dinner. 8/10

Entertainment-not really my cup of tea. However the crowd did enjoy it and it is unique. 8/10

Certainly a worthwhile dining choice and an interesting option for large groups as they have a very nice room/setup in the rear.
