i visit Ararat often--i really love the store---and i do know they carry the sausage called sujuk (regular and hot) as well as basterma. if you decide to visit the store i can assure you that you will not be disappointed.

they usually have sucuk, but it sells out, so best to call and check first. if they don't have it, you can always try marche istanbul, on keele (near lawrence). marche istanbul also has bastirma, too.

Oooh... this place sounds like an Armenian/Turkish store. Gotta check it out. The nuts in honey makes a great gift. It's called "fistikli bal" in Turkish. Put in on some buttered toast or mix it with creme-de-la-creme. MMMmmm... :)

Do you know if they carried any meat products (fresh or frozen)? Specifically, I'm looking for a sausage called "sujuk"...

Excellent place. The best thing there is the Armenian style lamejun. their pomegranate juice is delicious.as are their turkish delight sweets.

I was visiting a Christmas store on Avenue (between Lawrence and Wilson) and stopped at the Ararat Food Store? Has anyone been, this place was great. Lots of neat imported foods. I picked up some German chocolates and some sort of nuts mixed with honey in a jar.

Anyone have other recommendations for this place?
