Just went to Mi Tierra on St Clair. It serves tasty Colombian food in what I would call a 'functional' space; not at all fancy but cheap and cheerful.

You have to be able to handle a little grease...it is not light food . The meat plate was great and indulgent with huge chunks of bacon, steak, sausage, blood sausage, and chicken. Delish!

The ceviche was good but I have has better at El Bodegon on College.

The flan tasted like out of the box variety not homemade.

Calamari was drenched in butter and definately the frozen precut rings.

The empanadas were tasty. The figs and cheese dessert was also quite good.

Twice we were brought the wrong item.

The place is pretty inexpensive and proves you get what you pay for (in this case at least).

I went to Mi Tierra with a friend of mine who lives in Colombia, and he thought it was really pretty good. I enjoyed the food, as well, but it's my first experience with Colombian, so I can't comment more specifically on whether it was particularly authentic or particularly good.

we ordered La Bandeja Tipica, I believe. Basically a Colombian dinner plate - it came with rice and beans and a big slab of chicharron (which was utterly fantastic, I might add), some plantain, and some other stuff, that I no longer remember. We also had some Arepas to start, and I had mine with sausage. The sausage was really, really good - very rustic and chunky with a strong hit of cumin flavour.
