DO NOT COME HERE! Here's why:

my cousin and i went there on Saturday Feb 12 during the West Queen West even that was happening and having eaten there already, I told him that it was a good place to eat with decent pricing. We went in and there was a girl in the kitchen who told us to sit anywhere we want. There were seats free close to the cash area but there was a jacket hanging off one of the chairs. We asked if anyone was sitting here and she told us very nicely I would point out, that the jacket belongs to the server but that he can move it. So we sat down...

We waited for about 2 mins which is not a big deal and then the server rudely told us, while putting the menus on another table, that he was going to move us there, which was close to a couple who was already sitting there. I told him that the girl in the kitchen told us we could sit here. He replied rudely, "oh...well ok then" leaving the menus on the table he wanted us to sit at. He turned his back on us and I asked, " would you like us to move there?" and he answered, "well, if the girl told you that you can sit there, then its fine!" My cousin picked up the menus from the other table and we started to look at it when we realized that we didn't want to eat there. He continue to be very nice to the couple that he wanted us to sit beside so I told my cousin that I want to leave. We packed up our stuff and left.

I have NEVER, EVER experience such rude service at ANY restaurant in Toronto let alone walk out! My cousin and I are those types of people who aren't very rude or impatient in ANY way so for us to get up and walk out, really meant that we were really turned off. We would NEVER go back there NOR recommend ANYONE to go.

Sweet Lulu on Queen West was opened by an individual who doesn't like coriander, so it's possible to order all their dishes with or without coriander, chilies, garlic, peanuts, etc. Each patron gets a form where they place checkmarks beside the ingredients they want included in their curry/noodles/etc.

I wouldn't say it's amazing Thai food, but it's the only place I've seen where you can custom-order each dish for each person.

If I return, I also won't order the seafood option again. A very small amount of squid, cuttlefish and shrimp was added to my dish.
And don't bother ordering the edamame though-they arrived ice cold.

Stopped in at Sweet Lulu for lunch today and had Rice Ribbon noodles with Laksa soup, accented by Coriander, Garlic, and basil with the Beef & Vegetables. At first it seemed an unnatural combination, but it sure grew on me quick. Great meal, great service ... I will go back. Great spot for lunch.

The concept is great, and the menu is very clever and fun.
Unfortunately I find the dishes to be a bit TOO oily, which can wreck the flavouring.
I keep going back though - it's great for take-out, especially with the nifty take-out boxes!

I went to Toronto on my usual work visits and I had read about this place in Enroute magazine. I Loved it!!!! I wish we had it in Montreal I would eat there all the time.

I had the Rice Stick Noodle with Chinese Flavour, added Coriander, garlic and ginger. The Choice I made was Tofu and it was wonderful. I was surprised A from Toronto had said that it was oily. I guess she must have had a bad experience. My dish felt light and soooooo fresh. My only complaint was that they did not have spring rolls. the waiter told me that the restaurant does not have a deep frier and that the concept was focused on healthy...I need some grease from time to time :)
Overall, I loved my food and I can't wait to head to Toronto again to get my Sweet Lou Lou fix!

I was very disappointed in the dinner we had at this restaurant. Both of our noodle bowls lacked flavour and taste - we wondered where all the added herbs and ingredients were? Lemongrass, corriander and sweet basil which usually bring out the lovely flavour of Asian cooking were non existent. Plus both noodle bowls had been stir fried in so much oil that they were dripping - not very appetizing.

The restaurant has a great concept but just fails to deliver overall on the food. I have eaten in street stalls in Asia that make a better bowl of noodles than Sweet Lulu.
