For Indian sweets, definitely check out Mistaan at McNicoll (near Gordon Baker Rd). My cousin brought me there years ago, and I still go back whenever I have a craving for Rasmalai and mango barfi. Their samosas aren't as cheap, but really tasty too. Regular food is pretty good and pretty cheap for takeout as well. Most expensive thing on the menu is biryani ($7.99).
