this is my second time tryout ghananian food. first time is in Ghana house. funny that the food is prepared by the same chef -- the ghana house chef left there and opened her own restaurant. the only difference this time is that we have a ghananian friend in our group of 4. that helped a lot on ordering the real traditional food and eating in traditional way - that is all by hand!
the first dish we had is a big bowel with fish, beef and sauce. one big white bread come with it. you are supposed to dip a small piece of bread with the fish dish first before eating it. and all this is done by hand. of course you have to wash your hand first :) i didn't ask what kind of fish it is but it tasted bit fishy. not my liking. but my other friends enjoyed it.
we shared two set of that.
the second dish is mixed of fried plantains, fish and either rice or beef that i can't remember. this was pretty good.
the last dish was fried rice with fried goat meat with a separate fish sauce. this was the best dish for the night. the goat meat are well cooked and tasty. so is the rice. i don't know what ingredient is in there but it tasted so good that i finished more than half of the dish :-)
this place doesn't have alcolhol licence yet so we brought our own wine ( ghananian friend mentioned that the food is very heavy so drinks would be good to go along with it )
the overall cost is $40 for 4 people and that is pretty good deal considering how full we are.
note the deco is very basic (thought i saw a much better setting in the basement) so don't bring your date here :)
i will visit this place again.
