My group happened upon this Korean restaurant without having ever heard of it. As we dined, we slowly came to realize that we had found a hidden gem!

We were pleased with the restaurant's clean lines and general tidiness - and we were happy that the staff could accommodate our request to sit in the elevated booth in the back of the restaurant.

There were a few quirks that led us to conclude that the staff was accustomed to primarily serving Koreans. First, when we (non-Asians)ordered Sake - the server wanted to make sure that we knew what Sake was. Then, the staff expressed surprise that we requested to use chopsticks. They later offered us scissors to cut some very long noodles (I was somewhat mortified that my dinner companians accepted the offer of scissors). And finally, one of the dishes that appeared vegetarian on the menu, also contained some beef.

As we dined, the restaurant filled up. The only non-Asian person we observed was accompanied by his Asian date. We concluded - if Koreans eat here, it must be good Korean food!

And it was - all of the food was very fresh. We ordered a noodle soup - some fried chicken and a seafood dish as well - all very tasty! We were also pleased that the staff indulged us with a few yummy free samples.

The best part of eating here was the value - usually, one has to pay a premium for even decent food. At Taste of Magic - each of its excellent dishes was affordable.
