My family took me to goldfish to celebrate my birthday. It was a wonderful experience to say the least. The food and service was beyond my expectation. To start, I enjoyed the Warm Goat Cheese Salad, and Lamb Rack to follow. For dessert I tried their Bread Pudding, which was simply delightful. Definitely a birthday experience to remember. We'll be back...

Lentil Soup: Totally cool (or hot) mix of flavours! The lime, the basil, the parsley, all excellent on a base of hot lentil soup. Comfort food with a punch. Rack of Lamb: The lamb itself was excellent, cooked exactly to preference. The sauce was quite flavourful with the rosemary still standing out nicely among the "asian sauce" flavours. The crunchy, battered portobello was awesome. (Although eating at a nicer than average place everyone still has to have a bit of that deep fried goodness.) The veg on the side was just veg, could have kicked it up a bit and still not have it overpower the lamb flavours (or even just presented it nicer.) Walnut Cheesecake: Just a moister than usual cheesecake with sauce and chopped walnuts sprinkled on top. Surprised that it wasn't as flavourful as the rest of the meal. Overall: I'd recommend it.

In response to the "Fiery Thai Stir-Fry" concern: What an uncalled for remark! Just yesterday my mother and I celebrated mother's day with goldfishs stir- fry chicken and we thought it was simply delightful. I dont know where you dine, but the service was without a doubt both captivating and refreshing. Goldfish is the only place that sent each lady with a rose of appreciation and a wonderful experience. My mother and I will never forget the exceptional service and lovely ambience. But dont take either of our word for it, try the place out yourself.

Goldfish has always wanted to be one of Toronto's better and trendier restaurants. Unfortunately, the food is terrible. Avoid the "Fiery Thai Stir-Fry" at all costs. The sauce was totally bland and without spice. The vegatables, chicken and rice were all overcooked. The service was mediocre - when I complained about the food the waiter just added more of the same bland sauce. I will never go back.
