I attended a small event at The Old Scott House on Sunday afternoon. While the company was interesting, I can't remember the last time I was so incredibly bored by food.

The limited menu that they offer to groups was basically a typical, tedious banquet hall menu - even though we were only a group of about 10 people. Prime rib, steak, shrimp or salmon sided with dull parisienne potatoes and the most incredibly boring steamed vegetables.

Of the three desserts available, I opted for the cheesecake, which was not only (let's see, pick one, pick one) stodgy, but also heavy and dry (to choose synonyms for boring that also describe the texture of the cheesecake).

The service was also stuffy and tiresome. I particularly enjoyed the point where another waiter came in and started removing tables from our set without so much as saying a word to us.

It's just possible that the regular menu might be an improvement, but frankly, I doubt it.

We have dined at the Old Scott House before with more favourable experiences than this year. Unfortunately this year, we tried the Vegas show and were very disappointed. It definately does not appeal to a wide range of audiences. They are very expensive as well when it comes to the bar and cocktail services. No question the food is very good, but there are likely other restaurants that would provide more value for the dollar. Besides, when I ordered my dessert they didn't have any of my selection (Tiramisu) made! If planning a corporate event - Read the fine print!..and make sure you account for all the costs they don't advise you of! - a disappointed diner

Usually end up at the Old Scott House for Christmas. The ffod is always good and I do love the desert tray. If you want a casual experience, head down stairs and try the beef dip. MMMMMM!

My wife and I have been going to The Old Scott House for the last 12 years, occasionally we have dinner there. What brings us there nearly every weekend is not only the friendly atmosphere. The live performance by James Regan is just superb. We have been to other places, but James is just the greatest. His music makes us feel young at heart with "old" memories.

When comparing this restaurant to others, with a menu in the same price range, I would rate this restaurant as average at best. Though the food and decor were adequate, I found the service to be substandard. I dined at this restaurant twice and on both occasions I found the waiters to be snobbish and poorly trained. On one of the visits, not only did the waiter get the order wrong at my table, but at every table in close proximity to mine. In the price range of this restaurant you can experience much better dining at many other restaurants in Toronto.

My husband and I had our wedding reception upstairs in a private dining room last April. The food and the service was amazing. All of our guests still rave about it till this day. We had a great time and it will hold special memories for us always.

My wife and I have been going to this resturaunt since we were dating. I have to say it's one of the best resturaunts in terms of food, in T.O. The flavour in the steak and prime rib is unbelievable. And the service is pretty good too - the red rose for the ladies at the end of dinner is also a nice touch. It is fine dining and therefore is a little pricey, but the food is definitely worth the money spent

I was really amazed about this Restaurant! I had my wedding reception here and it was phenomenal! I will recommend this gorgeous place to everybody! Now, I'm planning another event in this place! The staff are all professionals and the place is very cozy, romantic and very rich in Victorian style!!!

The Old Scott House has been my favourite restaurant for years. The food is amazing and the service is unbeatable. I would recommend it to anyone looking for quiet atmosphere and a delecious meal.

The food was the best food I think I have ever tasted. The portions were large and well worth every bit spent. It was overall an excellent experience.
