Balzac's is definitely the special place for a romantic date. The coffee and desserts are pricey, but if you like fresh, bold flavours of coffee, it's definitely worth it.

Balzac's could be plucked from the Distillery and dropped comfortably into any left bank arrondissement. Sublime atmosphere serving the dark, rich brew meant for lingering, not for driving thru. An oasis for the coffee connoisseur.

Starbucks it not. A little out of the way for a coffee, but if you like fress bold coffee its worth it.

Ordinary coffee place -- high prices, unfriendly (untrained?) staff. However, it's about the only thing in the area. All about location.

This place is the most overrated and overpriced coffee shop in the city, staff are rude and always seems they have a pickle up their butts. Diana & Crew should try a little harder to ensure quality in their product and SERVICE

If you are looking for a really great cup of coffee (or latte, or hot chocolate!), in a beautiful building, in a hip area, at reasonable prices...Balzac's is your place...also a great 'date' place if you want to look like you have taste and class!!

I think that putting a Balzac's C offee Roastery in Toronto is one of the best things to happen to this city. Diana should be proud of herself and so should her hip and hard working staff. The coffee is fresh and delicious and the service and atmophere are unmatched. I recommend that any coffee lover (or non) check it out... and the one in Stratford is just as fantastic!

Great coffee in an excellent atmosphere. I love this place. Service is a bit unfriendly for such a nice place. I hope the staff is friendlier and kind next time.

The Balzac blend coffee is to die for...strong, thick, full bodied and potent. The way coffee is meant to be. Worth the jaunt down there.
