I had my luncheon wedding of 75 people at Auberge du Pommier on August 30, 2009. We had amazing service, and really didn't any issues the previous poster had. Our credit card was charged according to the timeline, and our questions were always answered promptly. The restaurant graciously rolled with things when we had three "surprise" guests. We're still being complimented on the food, and there was a great spot to take pictures on the ravine behind the buildings. My fiance and I got ready at the restaurant, so we were able to deal with any small details that came up. I think that with any wedding you need someone at the venue ahead of time to ensure things are right. One thing I will say is that I cannot imagine putting many more people in the main room. They say it holds about 100, but I think it would be crowded. Overall, we had an amazing, imtimate wedding that came in much cheaper and better than we would have ever had at a "typical" wedding venue.

We recently held our wedding for 60 people at the Auberge du Pommier. Ambience, food and food service was excellent. However, the restaurant is not well-represented by their private dining department. Getting the details into place was a nightmare. Telephone calls to our event planner were never promptly returned, answers to some of our questions were never provided. The answer was always the same "I'll check into that" but they never came back to us. For example, I couldn't get an answer from them about how many patio chairs they owned so I had to rent chairs on my own for the ceremony (this cost me an extra $400). My (now) husband arrived on the day of our wedding to find the terrace (where our ceremony was being held) being used as a storage area for tables and chairs and he had to ask to have them removed. There were many smaller details which were completely overlooked on our wedding day (no gift table set up, cake displayed in the wrong place, candle decorations behind head table not provided, etc., etc. The restaurant did not even process the installments and final payments we owed them for the function according to their timeline policies - the first installment was billed three months late. We had a good day, but the planning of our wedding was very frustrating and stressful. I would not recommend having a wedding here unless you are the very easygoing type who doesn't mind leaving everything to the last minute and then not caring if they drop the ball on the finer points.

I went there last night for Winterlicious.

Had a rez for 915 pm (which was the earliest timeslot for that evening when we called on the Amex members only day) There were many people sardined in the foyer so we were relieved when we were promptly seated.

Our hostess and waitress were very warm and friendly. The place was packed when we arrived but most of the patrons were almost though when we started which made our stay quite pleasant, not at all stressed.

Food was good. We brought our two daughters (late teens) and they thought it was just great.

All in all, service was excellent.

Went to Auberge tonight for a group dinner for 8 and was more than happy with the results.

Dinner was superb from start to finish and was much better then our previous (Summerlicious 2005) experience.

To start I had the foie gras (pan seared on a warm potato salad with poached quail egg and truffle jus) which was outstanding. Also sampled the 'creme de homard' which was equally as good, a healthy amount of lobster meat under a rich and creamy lobster soup.

My main was the butter poached lobster served under a light and frothy tarragon cream sauce and a braised endive/citrus salad... perfectly executed if a bit on the rich side, to be expected though. The beef tenderloin with wild mushroom croquette, roasted lamb loin, and roast chicken were also thoroughly enjoyed by all. Desserts were also excellent with the 'chocolat' of warm chocolate cake with creme fraiche ice cream and coconut cream crepe being favourites. The wine list also impressed and our choices (a viognier and cab sauv from California, both around $50) were a definite hit.

I must say I was surprised by the overall quality of the dishes/flavours, presentation, execution, and service given it was the first night of Winterlicious. I expected a rushed experience and a packed house, but the service was excellent from start to finish and the food definitely impressed. I haven't heard much in the way of reviews on Auberge of late but it was noticeably better then our dinner at Scaramouche two weeks ago (which itself was also quite good). I guess it goes to show that a great dining experience can be had at a Winterlicious venue if you stick with the regular menu... there is definitely some life left after all the years at Auberge.

Auberge du Pommier is a great go-to - high end and extremely consistent in terms of excellent food and service. Plus, conducive to discussion and discourse with a group!

though it is not what I would call adventerous but more of a romantice place that is always right on its game. it also has a lovely courtyard patio.

I had the seared fois gras for my app. and I was extremely impressed (although it is certainly not a frugal item).

My vension entree was good but not mind blowing, unlike the Alberta tenderloin that my husband had. Out of this world!

Wine recommendations were a little off, but service was impeccable.

I made the mistake of having the lemoncello (sp?) palate cleanser, which has a very heavy aniseed taste which I dislike.

The food and service were the finest we have had in all of our travels. The manager stopped by our table and was very knowledgeable about his wines and spirits, suggesting some perfect wine pairings and some interesting scotches. Very well done at L'Auberge. Beautiful cottage atmosphere with professional and polite service that you can't find anywhere else in Toronto.

The servers are awesome. So friendly from right when you step through the door. This was so refreshing because this isn't how it is at all oliver and bonacinni restaurants. The food was pretty good, but they love their caviar-any change to use as a garnish and they will. Overall it was an amazing experience and i would definitely go back.

On june 11th 2005 I celebrated my 80th birthday with my wife and 9 members of my family. We traveled to Toronto from several locations in the U.S.-Portland,Or., Cincinnati,Oh.,Boston,Ma and Skaneateles,NY. It was my choice as to where to celebrate this milestone and there was no hesitation in selecting your outstanding restaurant.( My wife & I had dined in previous years when visting Toronto.) Our evening with you wa s the highlight of our very active weekend celebration. All family members were very impressed with the ambience, service and of course, the wonderful selection of entrees. My wife & I look forward to a return visit well before my 81st birthday!!

Had a very nice business meeting with 6 associates and the seating was nice (armless) and spacious enough for private conversations and good eating. Parking was a bit of a pain, no valet.
