Red Violin is a Brazilian steakhouse located at the corner of Danforth & Broadview and it is simply amazing.
First, they give you a double sided card. if you want more, leave it green, when you're ready to upchuck, flip it over.
But more of what..
Well.. let me TELLLL YOU!
It's MEAT, skewers and skewers of never ending meat in all different cuts, all different flavours and varieties. They have these charming male waiters who come around to those with their card green side up offering temptations such as tender beef ribs, turkey wrapped in bacon, juicy chicken breasts, thighs, even hearts, the list goes on. if you're a vegetarian, this might make you want to turn your insides out and i'm sorry for that, but I'm a huge carnivor so of course the lip smacking tender morsels of perfectly seasoned meat oozing with warm succulent juices simply thrilled me. It wasn't all meat though, they have an antipasto bar with great things like smoked salmon ( with capers of course), tomatoes and bocconcini salad, steamed mussels, all kinds of bread.. you get the point.
The fantastic fare didn't end there, once your table if finished with the main course, the waiters come with skewered roasted pineapples, seasoned with brown sugar and cinnamon. it doesn't sound like much, but the warm cinnamon coated pineapple was the perfect compliment to end off the meal, absolutely delicious.
We went on a weekend, and on weekends they have a live Brazilian band playing, and when most patrons have moved on to dessert, they clear the antipasto bar making room for a latin dancing booty shake down... from the patrons!
The charming waiters all gather on the dance floor and then spread out to coax willing (or shoved) guests onto the dance floor and teach them the ways of the Brazilian hip jives. They were all soo adorable you just couldn't say no! At least I couldn't....
AND.. on top of all that, the night we were there they had a world champion belly dancer performing her sex to music moves, she was mesmerizing..
so there it is, Red Violin Brazilian Steakhouse, worth the drive to Toronto (or flight, or UFO landing)
