Portions are too small for the price and the food was fresh tasting but a little bland.
it had a small but decent menu selection however, the atmosphere and the food did not live up to fine dining expectations. Bring a snack or extra money.

Good atmosphere but pretentious. Has a bar. The food is definitely presented well and interestingly... ie. duck served 3 ways. But the price is exorbitant. Food tastes good but you are paying for ambiance.

A group of us went to nectar for the first time in 6 months last night and were greatly impressed with the progress these guys have made in terms of wine and menu choices. Notable winners: the duck and the tuna. We'll definitely go back for more!

A touch over-priced for the food. The service was excellent, the waitress and hostess were very good looking and helpful. The food was just not up to par of Susur, or canoe, etc .. Overall, everyone should try it, but don't expect awsome food. Good plating and presention though.

Had an reasonable dinner at Nectar Recently. An interesting menu concept, with delicious sounding food. Unfortunately the food was not as great as raved about here, and certainly not near the standard of Ultra, The Fifth, Crush or a variety of other midrange places, including most of college street. Seafood was very salty and "seafoody" in flavor, lacking seasoning. Tuna was quite bland, despite the chefs attempt to apply different curry seasonings to it. Steak was small but reasonable in flavor. Desert was quite a bit better in taste/flavour than any of the meals we ordered. Great service though, attentive but not overbearing. Much potential but I disagree with the food being anything more than marginally good.

This place just gets better with age....the service is more refined, the food is superb as usual and the room still glows with amber hues....truly among the best the city has to offer on all fronts

Excellent ambiance, music, lighting, cool, minimalist yet warm decor. Interesting menu mix. Sat downstairs - perfect place for a romantic night, or just to relax over a great meal and good coversation. Food was artistically presented, and the chef appeared to ask how the meal was as well. Only negative - was too full for dessert.

I've had the pleasure of eating at Nectar's a few times and it's always been an exquisite experience. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere relaxing and Pierre always greets you with a big smile. He will make your eating experience one you'll remember and will want to repeat. Congratulations Nectar and keep up the good work!

We dined at Nectar for the first time last Saturday and were extremely pleased with the quality of the food and its presentation. The 'deconstructed' approach to fine dining (as explained by our waiter) was very refreshing - I can't think of another restaurant in Toronto that evokes such originality. The atmosphere is very European in that it has a pleasant and comfortable feel without trying too hard to be 'hip' or trendy. We give this restaurant high praises and will definitely go back to try other items from their menu. Congratulations Nectar!
