I just came from dinner at the Erin Mills location and I was so
disappointed!!! I've been to several Spring Rolls over the years
and would have always recommended them as a pleasant dining
experience but no more. Honestly do not bother with anything
other than takeout for this location.

Overall the food was comparable to the other locations if not
quite as nicely presented and our server did try her best to make
up for the horrible conditions but that is where my pleasant
comments about this experience end.

The hostess was inept and told us to expect a 5-10 minute wait.
Instead we waited for more than 35 minutes and watched other
parties go ahead of us. It turns out the hostess didn't consider
that a pair of tables could be separated. Thanks to a poorly
designed entrance the waiting area is FREEZING.

The dining area itself is horrible and only a couple of square feet
larger than the takeout location on Yonge just south of Bloor.
The decor which works well in the larger locations such as Yonge
and Eglinton does not translate well into this tiny space so the
black and red interior started to make me feel like I was in a
coffin. The room was also so packed that I am concerned that
we might have been exceeding the legal capacity for the space.
Despite the number of people the room was freezing cold
thanks to the poorly planned and even more poorly insulated
glass wall.

I am rather disgusted at the Spring Rolls franchise for creating
such a poor dining experience. The space was clearly not large
enough for the chain and should have just been a takeout
location Shame on the interior designers for this location as
well!

I was at the newly opened location at Erin Mills Town Centre the other day.

Horrible. So, so horrible. Along with bad takeout food that is semi-nicely presented, the space is terribly cramped - it is a square room packed with tables, and the sound just bounces around within it. Makes for a loud, unpleasant atmosphere totally not condusive to any type of conversation with a dinner partner. The patio next summer might be tolerable, but only compared to the dining room; and the patio still has the mall parking lot view to contend with.

Couldn't even get a drink to numb the experience a little; they don't have their liquor license yet. Is this a growing trend - restaurants opening without their license - or has this always happened? I've encountered it twice in a month.

I've tried the Spring Rolls at Dundas/Yonge (Atrium on Bay) twice and was not impressed either time. The food was not very tasty and the pad thai was probably one of the worst I've had.
Others will probably disagree as the place is always really busy.

This little Toronto institution has grown up into a full-fledged chain with four locations and two spinoffs, but the 693 Yonge Street location remains busy all day and into the evening. The dining room is lovely to look at but the acoustics are terrible for conversation. Luckily, your mouth will likely be too full to talk anyway. The eponymous spring rolls are tasty, with a zesty sauce. Servings of main courses are large, and almost every flavour of sauce offers a veggie option. One complaint might be that with the heavy sauces, the dishes become a little one-note. Two doors down, there is a fast-food version of the restaurant sharing the same kitchen. Here you can choose smaller portions of several dishes for more variety.

Been trying different restaurants to find the best pad thai, and so far the winner is Spring Rolls. Large portion with large pieces of chicken and shrimp. Great pad thai, highly recommended.

Spring Rolls has a lovely interior and the food is decently priced. Their pad thai wasn't at all authentic, although it was tasty. I tried a few of my girlfriends dishes (ho fan and shanghai noodles, both a little greasy for my palate) and it seemed to me they all had a similar tang to them. (perhaps it was the oil they use) But overall it was very good, despite an overabundance of onions used in each dish. Desert was marvelous, (deep fried bananas drenched in honey) with a lovely presentation, as with the rest of the plates. An overall pleasant experience, but curiously i've noticed an oily smell in my hair and clothes on me every time I've dined there. Strange because I often opt for a window seat as far as you can get from the kitchen at the yonge street location.

I enjoy thai cuisine and had heard lots about spring rolls until i happened to eat there very recently. I can say it has THE BEST Tom Yum Soup (shrimp) and a great menu for dim sums. Well the main course is nothing to write about but its worth a try. Great ambience, nice staff and tangy soup. The dessert was not that great (only looks good)

I love interior design and this is what attracted me to eat at Spring Rolls. All the locations have very interesting and innovative interiors. However, having come from an Asian background, I would say the food is "ok". I've had way better asian food. If you are looking for authentic, you'll have to go to one of those "hole in the wall" restaurants. The price is decent for what you are getting though.

What the #%%$ is "pan asian" cuisine? It's highly offensive to me that people feel they can group all the cuisines of Asia into one generic category just because we Asians happen to look alike. Forgetting my indignation for a while, I still gave the food a try. It was at best very mediocre, better suited to people who can't tell the difference between good and bad, or who just don't know any better. My advice to the restaurant: stick to one cuisine and do that well instead of trying to cover off an entire continent.
