This is one of those hidden gems. In leaside when you drive by it just looks like a cafe... But you would be mistaken. This restaruant is a great alternative to some high priced restaurants.

I have been visiting them for about 2ish years.. i have done thier lunch specials, dinner and even brunch.

For a food lover you wont be dissapointed. Prices are not expensive, food is great value for the price.

Chef is german with proper training.. and they own a bakery where they get thier cakes from its excellent... the food the desserts... nothing else to praise... its also walking distance from me.

I got a great tip on a place in Leaside when I was unfortunately hospitalized in the neighbourhood. It's on Laird south of Eglinton (but north of the Olde Yorke), and it's called Marvellous Edibles. Never been for dinner, but I can swear to the fact that their lunches are amazing and inexpensive.

Sandwiches range from about $6-$9, and salad or sweet potato fries are about $3 more. The meals are enormous, and really high quality especially given the price. The reputed neighbourhood favourite is the steak sandwich (sliced steak cooked as requested, tomatoes, lettuce, grilled onion, cheese and some yummy but frighteningly orange-coloured sauce) - very tasty. The meatloaf sandwich is approapriately homey, although kinda hard to eat wtihout making a mess of yourself. The club is huge (like, bigger than my mouth), and has real turkey and thick cut bacon on challah with tomatoes and cucumber. The friend who ordered the club deemed it the best she'd ever eaten. Oh, and we practically arm wrestled over the last of the sweet potato fries, they were so good.

I'll be going back...often...

this place is consistently wonderful. The menu has many items I would never prepare myself & am thrilled to try. They will substitute items without blinking --- welcome for those with food intolerances or preferences.

I love their breakfasts, lunches and dinners. The desserts should be planned for --- all prepared at their other location -- fresh & wonderful.

The staff is friendly and can be very accomplished at serving.

If you are ever disappointed do tell them & things will be remedied.

I always enjoy my dining experiences here. I would recommend that folk make themselves regulars --- sincerely.

Although the store front is narrower, it is worth keeping your eyes peeled for. It is south of Gyro Motors (Mazda dealership), but not far.

I don't think Leasiders realize how lucky they are! This is an incredible place, everything homemade including desserts and a huge showcase of cakes, I heard the Chef is German, with Classic French training. Blackboard Menu with a great selection, including slow cooked food, we had Rack of Lamb, Steak and Frites, Mussels, and Slow cooked German beef roast with spetzli.
