interesting ambiance - the place originally was the cafe brussel - which moved to the danforth some years ago - and still retains the black-lacquered panelling from the 'bistro' days. the 'sushi bar' is out of sight - the bar that is in sight is just that, a bar. nice place for a few drinks if you're on your own. now, the miso soup is basically what you'd expect anywhere. however, the actual sushi rolls - so-called 'special rolls' are fantastic. in my opinion, among the best anywhere in north america. i've had excellent sushi in vancouver, victoria, new york, los angeles, santa barbara, san francisco and seattle. when i tell you it's top-notch - it probably is. service was excellent, but on fridays the place can be jammed from 7 to 10. other days, early dinner and you're likely only the second gang in there. sea eel is my personal favorite. try it.
