pleasant atmosphere, great service, our waitress sharon (i think that was her name)was fantastic & very patient considering a party of 16 can get a little out of hand at times....disappointment set in when the food arrived....not impressed at all. selection was minimal especially if your a vegetarian. needless to say the whole party felt the same way, we will not be returning, cheers,

i took my fiance and two of our best friend here for new years eve. i have got to tell everyone how impressed i was with everything. party favours were left at our tables ready for to enjoy before we even sat down. the food came out in an amazingly quick fashion given the amount of people there. the prime rib was absolutly amazing. what impressed me the most was a few minutes before midnight we came downstairs to the bar area only to see the majority of the staff from both the dinning room and the kicthen ready to celebrate with us. the owners seem to know how to make tehir staff feel like real people, unlike some of the other restaurants in this town i have been to. outstanding night, thank you.

having read the other reviews here, i have to agree with inadiquate service. while no one was rude to us, it seemed to be matter of inexperience on the part of the wait staff. they more than made up for it with enthusiasm however! we are not the type of diner that wants formality with and expensive plate. i want a friendly atmosphere, where i can relax and enjoy a good meal and a good bottle of wine. that is exactly what i get at orleans. live (and good) jazz on the weekends completes the package on weekends. if you want a stuffy attitude, with snooty waiters who know everything and wear a rolex, orleans is not the place you are looking for. i have never been dissapointed by the food. dishes were served warm with appropriate time between courses. the only glitch was a mistake in the wine. i ordered a white, and the (obviously new) waitress brought the same vintage and year, but in red. not that big a deal, and i didn't even notice till i was sniffing the cork. our last visit was for my birthday and we are going back tonite for my wifes birthday.

the food is great. after diner we go to the bar area particularly on thursdays, as they have a great blues group. however the floor area has too many tables where people could dance. perhaps the bar wants to discourage dancing, which is too bad as the music is terrific. even if they elliminated the few tables that are right on the dance floor it would really help and i would think would greatly imporove the traffic. if this doesn't change, people will just go elsewhere like awe shucks where the music is just about as good and dancing is encouraged.

these comments were made after our second visit since a single experience would not be a fair assessmant. this restaurant has great potential. the atmosphere of this old house (now restored/renovated) is romantic, elegant and trendy. the food was fresh, well presented and tasty, although it could have been served warmer and with a little more flavour. (we dound it a tad on the bland side) the main complaint was the service. not that it was bad, our waitress was very attentive and tried hard. but it seems that the owners have invested in the restuarant itself, the decor, etc., but not in proper and training of some of their staff - as we experienced ourselves and also witnessed at nearby tables. some examples include things like a system to know who ordered what at the table without having to ask each person, or learning the menu properly and some basic knowlege of the dishes, including the requirement for the staff to try samples of the dishes themselves. hopefully, this suggestion will be implemented by the time we visit again.

the food here was exceptional. the hostess was very kind along with the other staff. the music was very entertaining. steak was great along with cake for desert! i do have one suggestion, and that is that i felt at a certain time in the night the restaurant became very crowded on the first floor but there were not other problems. i will definetly be returning here.

the host gave one of my guests a menu binder with no menu inside and we had to request a wine list. on two occasions they had run out of the food items we requested (a main entree and type of ice cream for berries and cream dessert). however, the ambiance was inviting and the food was delicious for the most part.

orleans is a quaint little restaurant that provides a warm atmosphere, excellent service, delicious desserts, and great live music! there were an assortment of appetizers to choose from. i ordered the crab cakes to start and they were delectable. i chose the full rack of ribs as a main and what an excellent choice! the meat was tender and fell right off the bone. it was superb! i strongly recommend this dish. the other members of my party ordered the halibut (fantastic!), seafood linguini (wonderful!), and the jumbalaya (great! but he couldn't finish it because of the large portion). although we were all pretty full at tht time, we did decided to treat ourselves to some dessert and coffee. there were an assortment of desserts...i can't remember all the options...but we selected the berries and cream. it was fabulous! i would have liked to take an order home for my children (they would have loved it!) but we were planning on staying awhile longer to enjoy the band. i decided that i would bring them for dinner instead so that they could enjoy the experience as well. overall, we were extremely pleased with this restaurant. the food was topnotch, the service was timely, the server was pleasant, and the music was great! we'll definitely return!
