Oh, how I love King's Cafe! The restaurant itself is a lovely place to eat, with a laid-back feeling and friendly staff. The sweet and sour bites are fantastic, and the sticky rice is full of ginger and mushrooms and completely addictive.

But, as has been stated by several people, the shining part of King's Cafe is the shop at the back. Being vegan can sometimes be frustrating with regard to convenience cooking, especially if you work long hours and don't like spending the remainder of your day crafting meals from scratch. I was saved by this shop! It's full of frozen veg*n delights like dumplings, the aforementioned sticky rice, "drumsticks", roasted "chicken" bites, "tuna" steaks, and on and on. So many things I had never had before, and so easy to fix up after work. And their house brand plum sauce is utterly divine! Just read the packages carefully, if you are vegan, as some products contain whey protein.

The price range is pretty decent, with soups and sushi being more pricey. I'm a really big eater so I spend around 20$ normally. I eat there quite often when I'm in T.O. I highly recommend the steamed dumplings, and the sweet and sour oyster mushrooms! I've never tried any drinks there. Looks like they've changed their menu recently to be a big bigger like it used to be. I always have a great time there and the food is always great :) The worst part is how long it takes me to decide what to eat!

A really mixed bag of menu items, which themselves are unpredictable. Sometimes the food is amazing and some days almost tasteless - and I'm talking about the same dishes. The staff are friendly but only the owner seems to know exactly what's in the food; thankfully, they recently changed their menu to indicate which dishes are vegan and which aren't. The desserts are always dry so I never bother anymore. Very affordable.

I went to King's Cafe once to eat with my mother and won't be returning. The food is pretty bland and low on taste and ingredients. My waitress was a caucasian university student who either meditates too much or was on valium because she was very spaced out and inattentive.

The only reason to go to King's Cafe is for the little store in the back. You can get alot of good frozen "mock meats" and different vegetarian foods to use in your own kitchen, which probably makes better food than King's Cafe, even on a bad day.
