Four of us went to Mexitaco earlier tonight and ordered two of their "Mexitaco" platters ($21.99 each) -- each platter included 3 tacos al pastor, 3 bistec tacos, 3 chorizo tacos, 3 cochinita pibil tacos, and was served with chips and guacamole. We also ordered (very small) side orders of pico de gallo for $1.00.
Their corn tortillas were a little on the greasy side, but you could tell that they were homemade. I looove the smell of fresh corn tortillas... totally brings me back to Mexico. Flour tortillas are so bland in comparison! My favourite taco is still the taco al pastor.. I love the pineapple bits in it. The flavouring of the pork and beef filling was good, but I thought they skimped out on the meat.
I can't really come to a solid conclusion. Both restaurants have pretty authentic "flavours", but I want to find a place with good value AND good food. They're both good for a quick snack & taste of Mexico though.
