the waitress there has the worst manner i have ever seen. i went there w/ a friend. since we really like the food there, so we wanted to order 4 dishes(we only have 2 ppl) and then take the unfinished food home. while i was ordering (i am not the kinda ppl who takes 5 mins to order, i was reading out the order one by one), the waitress CUT ME OFF after 2 orders and tried to grab the menu and leave.
Of course i did not give her much tips after that RUDE behavior. but i STILL gave her 10%. well, guess what, she actually have the courage to ask me why i gave her so little tips. not wanting to make a scene, i gave her an extra dollar.
but i am never going back there again.

CONGEE WONG AT PROMENADE HAS THE WORST SERVICE I HAVE
EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY LIFE!!!! I've been to many other chinese
restaurants and never experienced such TERRIBLE service. The
kids wanted some juice and so on numerous occasions tried to
get the attention of a waiter. We were completely ignored. So I
got up to personally get a waiter and she put her hand in my
face and walked off. I was stunned and stood there frozen for a
minute. But nonetheless, the kids needed juice and I decided to
get another waiter, but this time she brushed passed me and
mumbled something. I stood there in such SHOCK of the RUDE
behavior given by these waiters. I guess the manager noticed
and came up to me and said what do you want? My first reaction
was to share my thoughts of how extremely RUDE these waiters
are, but she cut me off mid sentence and told me to sit down.
She continued to push me in the direction of my table as i was
trying to explain what had just taken place. But she continued to
cut me of asking "what do you want? what do you want?" in my
anger but with the kids in mind i told her i really jus wanted
some juice. after a couple mins it finally came. but then it
occured to me...would they spit in the drink? I am NEVER EVER
going back there again and i highly recommend NOT to go
there. If it's that chaos in the dining room, how much more in
the kitchen?? (you should wonder why the food comes
quick...good properly prepared food...doesn't come that quick.)

I have been to congee wong many times that i have lost count.

last night the food is as good as usual. I highly recommend Congee (small size for 2. large for 3+) with Deep Fried Dough Fritter.

we had Stir Fried Beef with Mushroom and chow Mein. large potion and i even had a lot for next day lunch.

overall, congee wong is a inexpensive and good place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. the leslie/finch location opens very late too!

Excellent congee for breakfast, lunch, dinner or souper. I visited this place with my family at night and we all enjoyed it very much. This place is famous for their congee and it didn't disappoint us. Their extensive side dishes were very good too and overall cost was very decent.

Defintely worth the try if you just pop over to Toronto or live here! I strongly recommend.

Amazing food with excellent value! Each time I have gone we have ended up with piles of food left over to take home! The Congee is delicious and a must try! Just take note that it can often be a bit busy around popular times, it would be worth any wait though. The food comes quickly and the service is adequate. A definite must try!

Have eaten here a couple times before, I can honestly say that the food here is superb! With its reasonable price (average in Toronto) & yummy food, it is a great place to try Chinese cuisine. Service in a Chinese restaurant, as usual, will be rushed but for the quality and price, its worth it!

Ive been here several times.

Pros: food is fantastic; atmosphere is busy and lively, definitely a great value & time out.

Con - wait time before being seated can be ~30min simply because its so popular. The one on Ravel Road (North York) is lacking however compared to the one at First Markham Place (Richmond Hill) and Promenade Mall. If you don't mind the distance, those are the ones to hit!
