I can't believe nobody mentioned the King fish? It's AWESOME! Can't find escoviche like it anywhere. Be sure to ask for some onions and pepper too!

When I’m hankering for something hot and spicy, Albert Wiggams juicy jerk chicken served up with rice and slaw more than matches my craving (starting at $6.50 CAD).
Also Albert’s own homemade ginger beer. Its pure liquid ginger in a bottle ($2 CAD) thats only mildly sweetened, and is the perfect fire extinguishing refreshment to accompany the robust goodness of the jerked meats.

I'll speak on behalf of the curry goat and rice 'n'peas - best i've had. also love the ox tail.

it is good, but grouchy service. Another pet peeve I have about Albert's is that they sometimes have bits of bone in their roti's and that really gives me the creeps...

they may be the same owners, but i find the queen st. location not only lacks the "charm" of the st. clair location, but the food is not as good. could just be my imagination, but where i dream of the st. clair location, i won't even step foot in the queen location (and i live so close to it).

The oxtail is, if I recall correctly, the most expensive thing on the menu. And there's not a ton of meat because of the bones. But man, oh, man is this stuff good! It's worth the price, in my opinion. (And I thought my companions' curried goat was even better.)

Hmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmm, the hype is well deserved.

The oxtail is something else. So succulent and soft. The gravy is mouth watering delicate and spiced just right. The coleslaw was the surprise hit. Creamy with a dash of pepper. Complements the rice and peas for the perfect cold weather comfort food. The only small concern is the price. At $9 for the small meal, it's not cheap. But you get what you pay for! :)

This was at the St. Clair and Vaughan location by the way. They are run by the same people at Queen West.

Next on the "to do list" is to try the fried chicken. Quite a few people asking for it.
