the service can at times be touch and go, it is few and far between to leave unhappy or unsatisfied. The food is unpretentious and for good value. The wine list changes often enough that you can always find something new to taste and weekend brunches are almost always with a line-up 5-6 deep.

You could get out of there for $40 per person, as I've done it, but that's simply only with a main and a glass of wine and little else.

it is a great place! It is a small restaurant so I would recommend making reservations.

I went to this restaurant on a recommendation and so glad I went. It is a small place so you have to look out for it. The food was great and the prices are not over the top. I am looking forward to dining there again.

After reading the recommendations from below about Toba, I went to take a look there for myself. They were serving the brunch menu from which I ordered the Corn Beef Hash (13) and a tea (2). I'll admit, there was a bit of sticker shock at the prices (such as pancakes or the traditional 2 eggs at around 10 dollars) at first, but knowing the neighbourhood I was eating at, I came over it pretty quickly.

The hash was very good, a whole affair of quasi-mashed potatos, topped with what looked to be a slice of corned beef (could've been slightly more generous in that department, IMO), topped with two oven broiled eggs, a dollop of hollandaise, a drizzle of sauce made with chipotle, a slice of house made toast, sauteed spinach, and some dressed mesclun. The eggs were just cooked and deliciously runny, the chipotle sauce had just a hint of a pleasant kick, the hollandaise tasted deliciously homemade and lemony, and the house brown toast was a thicker than normal slice and came with a good peach jam.

The atmosphere is cozy and the service was bright and cheerful without being too gushy.
