excellent food. we started with this Persian drink ( whitesh, and tastes like sour milk), I didn't like the taste but others do. other order include platter which come with a bread. then we ordered the special kebab dish - including 4 kind of kebobs: lamb chop, beef, grounded beef, chicken. very tasty. we also ordered the fish and chicken kebab entree and it was OK. the other one is eggplant and chicken together.

desert is not impressed. we had the persian ice cream which has a weird taste to it. the other we had is the persian ice noodle. also ordered coffee and it taste bland.

the bill came out to be $150 incl everything for 5 people. a little expensive but overall not bad food.

oh, it was a slow night. by the time we left 8:30pm , we only saw two group of people dining. they have belly dancing on friday and saturday and i was told reservation is suggested for the weekend.

Karoon is probably one of the oldest, most well-established Persian places. It’s around yonge and steeles, Karoon’s food is all delicious. I found Karoon’s food better than Zaffron and the service less pretentious too.it’s a place you’d be more likely to find home-style foods like ghormeh sabzi (stewed meat with several kinds of fresh herbs and lime juice). they’re also more likely than zaffron to have fesenjan (chicken, duck or pheasant simmered in pomegranate molasses with crushed walnuts and several different spices, including saffron). ghormeh sabzi and fesenjan are both fairly time-consuming to prepare, so they’re not always on the menu.
