Fennel flavoured chicken curry

Grind the following to a fine paste:
3 onions, 3 tomatoes, 6 cloves garlic
Dry roast the following and grind into a fine powder:
8 long dry red chillies, 2" cinnamon, 8 green cardamoms, 4 tbsp fennel seeds, 8 cloves, 1tbsp whole black pepper.
Heat 6 tbsp olive oil and add 1" finely chopped ginger and 2 sprigs curry leaves. Fry for 10 seconds. Add the paste and fry for 45 minutes on low-medium heat. Stir occassionally. Add the spice powder and stir well. Add 1.5kg chicken and fry for 5 min. Add water and cook until done. Serve with rice or naan bread.
