he didn't eat the thai beans from last week, so they are making a second appearance. the rice dish is my version of "indian fried rice" with torn up chicken thighs (pan fried with garlic-onion-ginger paste and a spice mix) and typically spiced moong dal. the radish cheese salad was inspired by a cheese marinated with cognac dish i saw on the swedish edition of kitchen of light. i thought gin would compliment both the caraway in the cheese and the bite of the radishes. the moon cake comes from my favorite old style chinese bakery in manhattan china town, one of the few left. it's on mott just as it turns past the haagen daas shop by the aji ichiban. they have the best moon cakes. the mixed nut one has a gillion different nuts as well as candied winter melon.
