It was a chilly day and nothing beats a warm bowl of semi-herbal clear stew/soup. The soup was thickened with lots of rice (think almost congee) and slightly sweetened with the jujubes. The ginseng added a slight depth, while the chicken tasted as if it was an old boiling hen (so kind of dry tough meat). Although I was a little underwhelmed with the chestnuts (they weren't mealy soft), I was satisfied with the gingko nuts and their texture. A bowl of "healthy" rice (it's got black rice in it?) accompanied the stew, but I was only able to dig half way as there was probably a whole bowl of rice in my hot stone pot.

Fun fact: the pot boiled for a good minute after being set down in front of me. :)
