This was pretty good. Nicely seasoned. Cooked as requested. Good flavor. The first and until now the only time I'd ever had a kobe burger was a long time ago. It was horrible. Apparently, there's a potential pitfall in making burgers from kobe beef that some people aren't aware of. It was a highly regarded restaurant, too. Anyway, this one was good. There was a nice smoky flavor from the bacon and lots of garlic flavor from the mayo. The fries were also nice. I'd personally like them thicker but that's a matter of taste, I guess. A burger and fries is one thing that contemporary restaurants try to upscale and usually they fail. I've eaten a lot of expensive burgers only to be disappointed.
I'm still not sure whether the kobe beef had much to do with the quality of the burger. George Motz, producer of Hamburger America, said on his blog that he's not convinced that kobe beef makes much of a difference in a burger.
