This is the regular falafel sandwich from Maha's at the West Side Market. It's a great discovery (for me) to end the year. I lost hope in falafel after Abba's closed. There's not nearly the same selection of condiments but the pita is almost as good and the falafel itself is at least as good.
They make the fafalel fresh from beans and they make their own tahini.
The hot sauce they use appears to be Sriracha. The Thai stuff with the rooster on the bootle. It may not be traditional but you can't argue with the flavor. It's also a pretty good match in my opinion.
One thing they can't replace about Abba's was the schug ( a hot pepper sauce). Man, that ws good.
The schwarma looks fantastic, too.
