Carob Chunk Caramel Blondies

Right out of the Oven!
Recipe:
1/2 cup vegetable margarine
1 cup packed light-brown sugar
Replacer for 1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 cup carob chips
3/4 cup sliced almonds
1 recipe vegan caramel (previous post)
Heat oven to 325 degrees. Grease and flour an 8 inch baking pan.
Beat margarine, brown sugar, egg replacer and vanilla about 2 minutes until pale and fluffy. Stir in flour, baking powder, carob and almonds.. Spread evenly in pan. Spread caramel over the blondies.
Bake 30 to 35 minutes. Allow to cool overnight then cut.
Makes 24 plus.
