I have finally perfected this recipe to my liking.
Meatballs:
1/2 lb ground beef
1/2 lb ground pork
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
1 egg
2 tbsp finely chopped onion
2 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed
Pinch allspice
Salt & pepper to taste
Sauce:
1/4 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup beef broth
Preheat oven to 400F.
Moisten breadcrumbs. Saute onion until golden. Mix together all meatball ingredients in bowl until well blended. Form into small balls and place on greased baking sheets; bake for 8-10 minutes or until done.
Evacuate meatballs to a plate and scrape any leftover bits into a small skillet. Add beef broth and cream and let simmer for awhile until slightly thicker. Salt and pepper to taste.
Serve meatballs with cream sauce, boiled potatoes, and lingonberry jam if you can get it!
