First, I made some hummus from scratch.
I actually only used a cup of chick peas, and cooked them for about an hour - I didn't have any in the can, and I hadn't soaked any overnight.
I used so many veggies in the blender first, got those all nice and pureed, and then added the cooked chick peas, with their associated liquid, onions and garlic (but I tossed the bay leaf).
Spread this on a piece of whole wheat, whole grain toast, cut it out, put it on a plate and made some fun markings with the back of a fork - just like you would with peanut butter cookies, only more random looking. <3
