Pecan pie

Recipe (from Dorie Greenspan's "Baking: From My Home to Yours"):
Blind bake pie crust for 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Turn oven up to 425 degrees.
Mix 3/4 cup corn syrup with 1/2 cup brown sugar. Add 3 tbsp melted & cooled butter, mix well. Add 3 eggs, one at a time, mixing well until frothy. Add 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1 tsp cinammon and 1/2 tsp salt, mix well.
With spatula, mix in 1 cup pecan pieces and 3 oz. chocolate, broken up into small pieces.
Pour mixture into pie shell. Bake at 425 for 10 minutes, then turn down to 350 degrees F and bake for 15 to 20 minutes more, until pie puffs up on all sides. Let cool before slicing and enjoying with some ice cream and/or whipped cream.
