Pastitsio is a Greek layered and baked pasta dish. It's layers consist of tubular macaroni, minced meet and is topped off with a rich creamy Béchamel. It is a bit time consuming to make but the result is very rewarding.

You will need:
About an hour in prep time and another half hour for baking

Ingredients:
- 1/2 kg package long thick tubular macaroni.
- 1 kg of minced beef
- 400ml canned diced tomatoes
- 1 glass of red wine for cooking and the rest of the bottle for consumption :p
- 1 Onion
- 2 cloves Garlic
- 300 gr shredded cheese (I used graviera, a fairly salty Greek cheese)
- Olive oil
- 1 egg
- some dried bread crumbs
- 200gr butter
- 100gr flour
- 800-1000ml milk
- Ground nutmeg (μοσχοκάρυδο), salt, pepper, cinnamon, cumin, allspice (μπαχάρι), oregano...
