Fill a pot with water and a tablespoon of salt (in case there are cracks). If you don't want to use salt, you can use vinegar. But vinegar may effect the taste of the eggs. Bring the water to a boil, then cover and take off the heat.

For soft cooked, let stand for 3-4 minutes.
For medium, let stand for 4-5 minutes.
For hard cooked, let stand for 6 to 7 minutes.

Take the eggs out of the hot water and put in an ice bath to stop the cooking process.

This is for 4 eggs (I all ready ate one). Time will increase or decrease if you use more or less eggs. This recipe is also for large eggs. Time will need to be adjusted if using a different size of egg.

I've done this many times over the last few months and the eggs have turned out great every single time.
