This is a wild mixture of chocolate, orange liqueur, raisins, and cinnamon flavors. It makes an incredibly complex cookie which can be traded with the aliens when they come for us….

¾ cup firmly packed brown sugar

Steps

Heat oven to 350 degrees F

Soak raisins in liqueur for at least 8 hours, over night if possible.
When done remove raisins with slotted spoon and reserve the liqueur.

Microwave Baker’s semi-sweet chocolate for about 2+ minutes, stir until smooth and blended. (You may have to go an additional 20-30 seconds after stirring)

Stir and blend in sugar, butter, eggs, and the Orange Liqueur.

Mix up the flour, cinnamon, baking soda. Then blend into the previous wet mix.

Stir in raisins and chocolate chips, blend well.

On an non-greased cookie sheet, place 2 heaping Tablespoons of the mixture. Flatten down with a spatula as needed. Leave about 1-2 inches between cookies.

Cook for about 13 minutes and remove when crisp looking.

Let them sit 1 minute on the cookie sheet and then use a spatula to remove to cool further on a cookie rack.

You may have to repeat as this makes about 20 large cookies.

Store in baggie or a tin, but not refrigerator…consume within 36 hours, or the devil may come for a bit of a cookie-sabbatical.

special note—Old Fashioned Daniels
The left over raisin-infused orange liqueur can be added to 2-fingers of Tennessee whiskey (Jack Daniels) for a very smooth drink before dinner.
